Product Details
The HM Digital UHF Wireless Plug-On Microphone Transmitter from Lectrosonics enables you to transmit the signal of any XLR microphone wirelessly. The HM transmitter overcomes inherent channel noise with its patented Digital Hybrid Wireless technology, which digitally encodes the audio. Digital conversion before transmission provides all of the benefits of conventional FM wireless systems, (range, resistance to interference, etc) without the noisy artifacts introduced by analog compandors.
The HM transmitter provides 256 user-selectable UHF frequencies. The input amplifier uses an ultra low noise op-amp for quiet operation. Gain controlled with a wide range dual envelope limiter, it provides over 30 dB of headroom above full modulation. A 24-bit A-D converter digitizes the audio, then filters supersonic noise above 21 kHz.
HM transmitters are backwards compatible with Lectrosonics 100, 200, and IFB series receivers; as well as being compatible with third-party analog receivers. Phantom power from its XLR input jack is selectable between 5, 18 and 48 volts, making the HM compatible with just about any condenser or dynamic microphone. It’s powered by two AA lithium, NiMH, or alkaline batteries for up to 12.75 hours of use, with Phantom Power engaged (lithium).
The sound quality of the HM transmitter is outstanding. The power supply provides constant voltages, switching to accommodate the life-cycle of the batteries, resulting in an ultra low noise input amplifier. The excellent signal to noise ratio and dynamic range of the HM qualify it for use in the most demanding of professional applications.
