4 M/E Live Production Switcher for Broadcast and Live Events
The Blackmagic ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K Plus is the largest switcher in the ATEM Constellation line. It doubles the I/O of the standard 4 M/E model with 80 standards-converted 12G-SDI inputs and 48 independent 12G-SDI aux outputs. Every input includes frame synchronization and format conversion, so mixed sources connect without external converters. As a result, the switcher suits large broadcast productions, concerts, festivals, sports and multi-camera corporate shows.
Ultra HD Switching, Keying and Effects
The switcher runs four mix effects rows with full Ultra HD processing up to 4K60 at 10-bit. Operators get 16 ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers for multi-layer compositing and virtual set work. Additionally, four DVEs handle picture-in-picture and animated transitions. Two independent SuperSource processors each add four DVE layers over a background, functioning like extra compositing switchers. Four media players pull from a pool of 64 stills and 4 motion clips. For monitoring, four independent Ultra HD multiviewers offer 16 routable windows each.
Audio Mixing and Crew Communications
A built-in 298 channel Fairlight audio mixer provides EQ and dynamics on every input, and MADI I/O connects the switcher to larger audio infrastructures. Therefore, smaller productions can mix entirely inside the switcher without a separate audio console. Built-in talkback supports a 5-pin XLR headset plus an RJ12 connection for ClearCom and RTS systems. The switcher also delivers a USB-C webcam output for streaming workflows.
Compact Design for Production Trucks and Flypacks
The rack-mount chassis includes a front control panel and an LCD for program and settings. However, most operators pair it with an ATEM hardware panel or software control over the network.
