IEM Antenna Combiner for Multi-Transmitter Systems
The Shure AD8C is an 8-port passive antenna combiner for Axient Digital PSM in-ear monitor systems. It merges the RF outputs of several transmitters so they share transmit antennas. As a result, fewer antennas go up on stage, and closely spaced antennas cause fewer intermodulation problems. It operates across 470-960 MHz, so one combiner works with multiple frequency bands.
AD8C Combining Modes for Flexible Antenna Plans
Two selectable modes adapt the AD8C to the show. In 8:1 mode, up to eight RF inputs combine to a single output and antenna. Alternatively, 2x 4:1 mode splits the unit into two sections of four inputs each. This setup feeds two antennas to support Spatial Diversity transmission from ADTQ and ADTD transmitters.
Signal Compensation and Network Control
Combining always introduces some passive loss. However, the AD8C works with ADTQ and ADTD transmitters to compensate for combiner loss automatically. A built-in Ethernet switch supports remote control and firmware updates over the network. Additionally, the AC version cascades power to other rack components. Eight BNC inputs keep patching simple at the rack.
Cleaner RF Plans for Tours and Large Stages
The AD8C suits arena tours, festivals, broadcast events and large theatrical productions running many IEM mixes. Pair it with the ADTQ quad transmitter and ADXR bodypack receivers for a complete Axient Digital PSM system. Our product experts can help plan combining and antenna placement for your venue.
