Large-Format Cinema Performance with Global Shutter Technology
The RED V-RAPTOR XL 8K VV combines large-format cinematic imaging with advanced global shutter technology for demanding film, broadcast, and virtual production workflows. Designed for high-end productions, this cinema camera delivers exceptional image quality, impressive frame rates, and advanced workflow flexibility.
Its 8K VV global shutter sensor eliminates rolling shutter artifacts and jello effects, even during fast camera movement or high-speed action scenes. As a result, productions gain cleaner motion capture and improved image accuracy.
Advanced Dynamic Range and Low-Light Performance
The V-RAPTOR XL [X] delivers more than 17 stops of dynamic range in standard operation. Additionally, Extended Highlights mode pushes performance beyond 20 stops for greater highlight retention and smoother roll-off.
RED Global Vision technology preserves highlight detail while maintaining natural color reproduction in difficult lighting conditions. Combined with excellent low-light performance, the camera performs well for feature films, live events, broadcast productions, and virtual environments.
Built for High-End Production Workflows
The camera supports up to 120 fps at full 8K resolution and up to 240 fps in 4K. Therefore, crews can capture slow motion, speed ramps, and ultra-sharp still frames without sacrificing image quality.
Integrated SDI outputs, electronic ND filters, improved audio architecture, and a built-in control display streamline on-set operation. The camera also supports 16-bit REDCODE RAW and ProRes recording formats for flexible post-production workflows.
Flexible Virtual Production and Broadcast Integration
Phantom Track dual-capture mode enhances virtual production workflows by enabling simultaneous capture options for LED volume environments and VFX pipelines.
Additionally, the camera’s integrated I/O and robust power ecosystem simplify integration into larger cinema, broadcast, and live production systems.
