Compact RGBW Pixel Batten at 10 mm Pitch
The Martin VDO Sceptron XB 320mm is a short, IP65-rated pixel batten that works as a lighting fixture, a low-resolution video element, or both. Each 320 mm unit carries 32 RGBW pixels at a 10 mm pitch in a housing just 27 mm wide. It is a separate, newer model than the VDO Sceptron 10, using RGBW LEDs in place of RGB, and Martin rates it at more than three times the Sceptron 10’s output. The short length suits tight scenic outlines, corners, set pieces and gaps that a 1 m section can’t fill.
Sceptron XB 320mm Pixels and Output
Mixed white output is rated at 2,300 lumens per meter, with a color temperature range of 1,800 K to 12,850 K. Martin’s full gamut pixel calibration keeps color consistent from pixel to pixel and fixture to fixture. Color quality is listed at CRI 78 or higher and TLCI 61 or higher, a clear step up from RGB-only battens. With no optic fitted, the beam measures 122° by 122°. Optional graze (24° by 84°) and blade (16° by 76°) lenses narrow it for wall grazing and crisp lines, while flat, round, square and tube diffusers change how the pixels read.
Control, Power and Rigging
The fixture accepts Art-Net, sACN and Martin P3, detects the protocol automatically, and supports RDM over Art-Net for addressing. On the 320 mm unit, DMX modes run from 3 to 110 channels, with 2, 4 or 8 segment modes and full 32-pixel control. A P3 Mix channel switches or fades between lighting and video content. Power and data travel together over 7-pin DCE hybrid connectors at 48 V DC, fed from a P3 PowerPort or compatible DCE supply, so there is no direct 5-pin DMX or mains input. Each unit draws about 11 W at full white and weighs 0.6 kg (1.3 lbs), and an M6 captive-nut channel on the back allows mounting in any orientation.
Scenic Detail for Touring, Broadcast and Events
The 320 mm XB fits scenic outlines, LED-trimmed set pieces, broadcast backgrounds and architectural accents on corporate stages. Combine it with the 1000 mm version to build continuous lines that turn corners or fill odd lengths at the same pitch. The IP65 rating covers temporary outdoor use from -20°C to 50°C. Our product experts can help plan PowerPort counts and cable runs for your Sceptron XB layout. Add the Sceptron XB 320mm to your cart to request a quote.
