Compact Hazer with an 8-Second Warm-Up
Hazebase THE FAB is a hazer built into a 19-inch, 2U flight case. It uses a directly heated evaporator instead of a compressor. Hazebase lists warm-up at about 8 seconds, so haze is available almost as soon as the unit is powered. Two motorized air deflectors and two variable-speed fans steer and spread the output. At just 110 mm tall, it fits under risers and on crowded decks.
THE FAB Haze Output and Fluid
Haze density is adjustable from 1% to 100%. The onboard tank holds 1 liter. Two axial fans each move up to 100 cubic meters of air per hour, with speed adjustable from 0 to 100%. The motorized deflector plates swivel plus or minus 45°, so programmers can aim or sweep the haze from the console. THE FAB runs on Hazebase base*V and base*B fluids.
Network Control and Onboard Sensors
THE FAB accepts DMX512, RDM, Art-Net and sACN, plus Hazebase’s JT-Remote protocol. DMX runs in 2- or 3-channel modes covering pump output, fan speed and, in 3-channel mode, deflector position. Ethernet runs through a built-in 2-port switch alongside 5-pin XLR DMX in and out. The 2.8-inch color touchscreen rotates 180° to stay readable when the unit is flipped, and onboard NiMH batteries allow setup without mains power. Power is 100-240 V AC at 500 W via powerCON TRUE1.
