VL1600 for GroundControl Remote Followspot
The GroundControl Vari-Lite VL1600 is customized to offer compatibility with the PRG GroundControl Followspot System.
The PRG GroundControl Followspot System gives a followspot operator the freedom to remotely operate a high output automated luminaire as a followspot from up to 2,000 feet away. Designers now have total creative freedom to put followspots in places that were either previously unusable or involved complex rigging. With the GroundControl (GC) Followspot System, the operator is located away from the luminaire, making the required physical footprint significantly smaller than conventional followspots. Because of this small footprint and low weight, followspots can now be placed in a wide variety of positions.
VL1600 Output and Tunable White
The VL1600 Profile is built around a 600 W bichromatic LED engine that tunes from 3,200 K to 7,200 K, with a rated output of 16,000 lumens. Color rendering is strongest at the warm end: CRI 95 at 3,200 K and 89 at 5,200 K. A 180 mm front lens and a 7° to 48° zoom cover tight pickups and wider specials. As a result, one fixture can match a warm theatrical key or a cooler white for camera without a gel change.
Framing, Frost and Quiet Operation
CMY mixing and a seven-color fixed wheel handle saturated color, and 20 user-definable color presets speed up programming. Vari*frost runs from a soft edge to full wash diffusion under console control, with no glass to swap. The effects section adds a rotating gobo wheel, a VL*FX animation wheel with four effects, a 16-leaf iris and a four-blade framing system that rotates plus or minus 90°. Four fan modes include whisper and a silent mode rated at 25.2 dB. The fixture runs on 100-240 V AC and takes DMX with RDM or Art-Net.
