EagleStrike for GroundControl Remote Followspot

The GroundControl Ayrton EagleStrike is customized to offer compatibility with the PRG GroundControl Followspot System.

The PRG GroundControl Followspot System gives a followspot operator the freedom to remotely operate a high output automated luminaire as a followspot from up to 2,000 feet away. Designers now have total creative freedom to put followspots in places that were either previously unusable or involved complex rigging. With the GroundControl (GC) Followspot System, the operator is located away from the luminaire, making the required physical footprint significantly smaller than conventional followspots. Because of this small footprint and low weight, followspots can now be placed in a wide variety of positions.

EagleStrike Optics and Output

The EagleStrike is Ayrton’s first LED-source followspot, designed for long throws in large venues. A 1,200 W white LED module at 6,500 K produces up to 55,000 lumens, and Ayrton rates it at more than 100,000 lux at 10 meters. The 13-lens optical system and 270 mm front lens give a 15:1 zoom from 2.9° to 43°. Two beam reducers on the gobo wheel narrow the beam further to 2.5° or 0.9° for very long throws.

Color, Framing and Followspot Modes

CMY mixing works with a progressive CTO from 2,900 K to 6,500 K and two color wheels that include CRI, minus green and multicolor filters. A four-blade framing system covers the full field and rotates plus or minus 90°, alongside a 15-blade iris, two rotating gobo wheels, an animation wheel, two prisms and light and heavy frost. Dedicated followspot modes speed up pan and tilt response and allow continuous 360° pan without flips. The housing is IP65 rated, with a built-in CRMX receiver and DMX, RDM, Art-Net and sACN control.

Long-Throw Followspot for Stadiums and Festivals

The EagleStrike suits stadium shows, festivals, arenas and outdoor broadcasts where followspots sit far from the stage and weather is a factor. The beam reducers hold a tight, bright pickup at distances that strain most automated profiles. Our product experts can help plan GroundControl positions for your show.
