DPA 4071-BM Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone w/ Presenece Boost

E-CODE: R700J-

Product Details

An outstanding speech and vocal mic, the 4071 will make your voice be heard with clarity. Use it for all ENG/EFP and even applications which require small microphones that are resistant to moisture, extreme temperature change and humidity.

When recording voices from mic placement on a performer’s body, no frequency below 100 Hz is attractive. For this reason, an acoustical low-cut has been incorporated in the 4071 capsule so the built-in pre amp (and the wireless system) will have much larger headroom. Furthermore, it removes distant rumbling from cars, trains, airplanes, etc.

Another and equally important consideration is that when placing a microphone on the body, especially on the chest, the frequency range of the consonants is damped, resulting in poor intelligibility. The 4071 has a built-in boost to compensate for this loss. Especially for ENG work the 4071 is perfect because almost no ENG field mixer leaves any possibility for a compensation of this kind.
If you are purchasing this lavalier with a TA5 or Lemo connector, we will modify the mic in house, and will take 7-10 days to ship. If you order it pigtailed (unterminated), or with a microdot connector, it will ship immediately if in stock. When ordering with the microdot connector, be sure you order the correct DPA microdot adapter to interface with your transmitter or sound system.

* This lavalier is not recommended for Zaxcom. We recommend the DPA 4063 (built for operating with a lower supply voltage) for Zaxcom transmitters.
DPA miniature mic nomenclature guide:

4060 – High Sensitivity
4061 – Low Sensitivity
4062 – Extra Low Sensitivity
4063 – Low Sensitivity Low DC (for Zaxcom transmitters)
4071 – Low Cut, Presence Boost
