Product Details
The Epiphan Pearl is a portable live production video mixer that lets you capture, switch, stream, and record video anytime, anywhere. With advanced automatic channel creation and a front panel touchscreen, setup is very simple. Simply plug in power and one or two sources to see your captured stream on the touchscreen. Connect to a network and start streaming right away
The Pearl allows you to capture four HD sources at the same time via SDI, HDMI, and VGA inputs on the rear. You can also use optional adapter cables to capture from DVI and component sources. Audio is captured embedded in the SDI and HDMI sources and can also be captured independently via onboard stereo TRS jacks. The Pearl features a 1TB HDD, which stores approximately 300 hours of HD recordings.
With the Pearl you can record your videos while simultaneously outputting up to four 1080p streams at 30 fps, or two 1080p streams at 60 fps. You can also output a single Ultra HD 4K (3840 x 2160) stream at lower frame rates.
The multi-featured front panel touchscreen display can be used for live switching, confidence monitoring, quick configuration, system information, recording control, and streaming control. It can also display a VU meter with quasi-peak metering. In addition to the touchscreen display, two Mini DisplayPort connectors are also available for local video output with audio for confidence monitoring.
Since the Pearl’s original release, Epiphan has continuously enhanced it via firmware upgrades. The quasi-peak metering feature mentioned above, for example, was added to the Pearl via such an enhancement. Accordingly, more enhancements may additionally be made in the future.
